Homeostasis is a maintained state of health where mind, body and spirit can function harmoniously. If one of these is “off key” there can be no harmony, and your health will suffer. If anything positive has come from this crazy year of 2020, I think maybe it has made us all take our health a bit more seriously. It certainly has me.
I decided to look at my own health as my responsibility, not the doctors’, and take charge of it myself. I knew to be well I had to get at the root of the pain and constant discomfort I was feeling, to treat the source of dis-ease rather than treat the symptoms of it. My search for answers led me to take up and complete the herbology courses I began 20 years ago. So during this covid-influenced span of time, I have been learning how to become and stay healthy – in homeostasis. This proactive step has brought about a real change in my health and well-being through knowledge and application of the healing power available to us through the plants that our Creator gave us for this very purpose.
Which brings me to the point of this post…my desire now is to help others achieve their own state of wellness. I want to share this knowledge of how to get and stay healthy naturally and provide herbal applications for those who want to try them. So in addition to the wonderful warm and comfortable alpaca products and quilts we offer in the Faithful Acres Farm Store, I will be offering my own herbal tea blends that are not only delicious but will help you in staying healthy.
The Faithful Acres Herbals line includes teas for immunity boosting (key for staying healthy against viruses), colds and fevers, coughs and congestion, high C tonic (which is great and safe for kids), headaches, digestion aid, heart health, and my own tonic tea I created for myself called “Surely Goodness and Mercy”. The “It’s A Beautiful Day” gift box includes “Good Morning Sunshine”, “Afternoon Delight”, “Sunset”, and “Sweet Dreams”. Personal favorites are “Peace Tea” – a mellow stress relieving blend, and “Spock Tea” – to live long and prosper.
To give you an idea of the power of herbal teas, let me share about “Surely Goodness and Mercy”, and you’ll see why I named it so. It includes echinacea, hawthorn berries, red clover, marsh mallow, lemon balm, holy basil and bilberries. It is blood purifying, immunity building, strengthens the heart, soothes irritation of the stomach and bowels, is high in vitamins and minerals, a lymphatic cleanser, calms nerves, renews energy, and is high in antioxidants and vitamin C. Good name for it, huh!
Just for the holidays you can enjoy “Candy Cane Lane” or “Sparkling Holiday Tea”. These would make great Christmas gifts (and are delicious!), as would “The Medicine Cabinet” or “It’s A Beautiful Day” boxed sets, or a holiday tin with mug, infuser and selected tea.
We also have a new shipment of our favorite alpaca socks and gloves just in, plus luscious blankets and throws made from soft alpaca fiber! They are beautiful! You won’t believe how wonderful they are until you see and feel them!
If you aren’t able to stop by the store, I can ship anything you need. Just give me a shout. I wish each of you a safe, healthy, and blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season!
